KBB - Knowledge for business in border regions

The KBB project has been developed to boost the activities of technology transfer in the region in order to provide the relevant stakeholders with the methodology for training and to pilot projects in companies until they are finished. The project was approved within the first call, which was published in 2008.

The partner consortium is led by Public agency for technology of the Republic of Slovenia (TIA) and consist mainly out of the three groups of partners:

  • universities, as creators of knowledge
  • associations, as a link towards companies
  • public organisations, to ensure the dialogue with the decision-makers

Project KBB main activities

In the first phase of the project two of the Partners consortium has selected and trainned consultants (technology transfer facilitators). They work closely with technology agencies and institutions who are involved in technology transfer and creating knowledge (academia, RR institutes).

The facilitators are currently working on pilot cases with (innovative) companies, helping them to identify and implement technical solutions (generated from RR milieu) thus increasing competitive position of companies.

KBB project consortium has also developed a substancial B2B contacts in selected fields of operation (sectors):  ICT, materials, biotechnology, chemistry, food technology, automotive and also in horizontal sectors such as energy, environment and creative industries.

5 specific events were organised for companies (sectoral, with mach-making opportunities) and Technology transfer day is being organised to raise awareness on the topic and related innovation approaches.
