The Austrian Foundry Research Institute is a non profit research organisation outside the university structure and is accredited for 45 testing methods according to EN ISO/IEC 17025. It provides a know-how basis from simulations of castings, to casting technologies and the application of castings.

They provide R & D, Technical consultancy, Materials testing, Numerical simulation and Seminars and vocational courses. Their main customers are Foundries, Suppliers for the foundry industry, Industrial users of castings (Automotive industry, heavy machinery industry and plant industry) and R & D institutions.
