The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1995, but its beginnings go back as far as 1959.  The Textile Technology Department joined the Mechanical Engineering Department ten years later and has remained its constituent part ever since.
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at University of Maribor is scientific-research and pedagogical institution and is due to its integration work and its successfulness, competitive to European and world-wide Universities. As University member, the faculty represents the progress of science in mechanical engineering, textile, industrial and environmental protection engineering resulting in excellent bibliography (high-impact original scientific papers, patents, and conference contribution).
